Role of the teacher in the society


Teacher plays a very significant and valuable role in the society.  A teacher is identified for his far-reaching influence personality in the society he lives in. Students are deeply affected by the personal love and affection of a teacher and his character, competence and moral commitment.  They aspire to adopt the manners, costumes, etiquette, style of conversation and get up of their role model.

A teacher can lead you anywhere.  A student in his early days of education tends to determine his aims in life and make future plans by consulting his teachers.  Therefore it is important that a good and visionary teacher plays a prominent role in making the future plans of the student.  A corrupt and an incompetent teacher can actually spoil the bright future of a growing student.

A teacher is an architect of our future generation. Therefore this noble profession should be chosen by only those people are most intelligent and competent members of the society. He should act as a model of faith and piety and should have a fairly good knowledge.  A good teacher should consider it as his duty to train his students and should feel responsible for it. He should have a feeling that his students have been entrusted to him and must avoid any breach of the trust the society has reposed in him. A good teacher always leaves a remarkable imprint in the society.  People consider a teacher as their well wisher and a friend who is taking care of their children. It should be ascertained at all cost that a candidate for this profession has a natural acumen and aptitude for teaching.

A teacher is required to actively participate in the social activities in a very positive way.  A good teacher is a keen observer and has a deep insight to child psychology.  He should be fair to all his students.  He cannot lose his self control on mistakes of his students may commit. He should respect their feelings and ego, and resolve the problems with grace. If anyone is better criticizing on his opinions, a good teacher will not feel ashamed or humiliated to accept his mistakes wholeheartedly.

A teacher is a role model in the adult world. He is proud of his culture, his national dress and his national language.  A teacher acts as a missionary, a mentor, a reformer and a guide besides being a dedicated tutor.
